the five hottest accessories of summer 2021

this summer, fashion trends are strong and the use of accessories to enhance outfits is now more popular than ever. from bags to jewellery, here are the hottest accessories of this summer (or winter, depending where you are).

1 - tote bags

tote bags are usually a popular accessory, and this summer is no different. some of our favourite brands we've seen throughout 2020 and 2021 and coming out with new graphic tote bags. the most popular and simple, colourful graphics that come from larger brands like With Jéan as well as smaller brands that sell on depop, etsy and other similar sites. some of my fav inspo pics and styling are below.

this cute tote bag is also a pinterest favourite. from a small brand called the beach club shop (@_thebeachclub) this tote bag is affordably priced and a summer essential. definitely one to put on the wishlist !!

2 - caps / trucker

this year, bucket hats are out, caps and trucker hats are in (thank god). although many still lean towards the bucket hat, it's obvious that the hat thats been dominating our pinterest boards is the cap. there are many out there to choose from, and are a favourite for influencer.

this vintage style distressed cap is a favourite. the colours are super cute and versatile yet it's unique enough that you don't see every second person on the street wearing it. this cap can be found on depop and small sellers !

this picture radiates the exact aesthetic i want this summer. the hat is super cute and unique and i love that it's in a different colour. if oyu know where it's from leave it in the comments for everyone !!

for a more minimalistic summer aesthetic, this look is perfect ! with the green ny hat and the messy hair, the look is def one to recreate using the basics in your closet

3 - clay / chunky rings

the every controversial chunky rings. although these likely won't be in style much longer, but depending on personal preference, you might still want to style these and use them to accessorise.

these are a cute option, and the colours are more toned down than usual, although there are more colourful options on their website.

4 - colourful sunglasses

colourful sunglasses are one of my personal faves. they add the colour into outfits and take your outfit to the next level. there are lots of different places to get them, and they can be bought for a good price, especially considering they are an item you can wear time and time again.

these are really cute sunglasses. they are priced really well (about $15 usd) and you could def own one in different colours depending on the different outfits you wear. the black ones with the pink lens are also one of the most trendy sunglasses seen this summer.

5 - platform flip flops / sandals

platform flip flops / sandals are the new essential footwear of summer. although i'm unsure if these count as an accessory, they had to be mentioned. they come in many colours, most popularly green and white and are so cute. the originals are from shop peche, but many more designs have been made of a very similar product. these were a massive 2000s trend come back into style and i'm living for it !

these are the originals that have been recreated by many different manufacturers. VERY popular with influencers and the general public as well.
